Boot camp participants can also perform various different forms of cardiovascular training. Things like jumping jacks, burpees and endless different styles of sprinting, jogging and the like. All of these different cardiovascular styled exercises are all designed to elevate your heart rate. One of the main benefits of cardiovascular training that is often overlooked is the health benefits of working your heart and lunges. Most people associate cardio training with weight loss and this is one of the biggest myths out there. If you want to lose body fat, then resistance training is by far the more efficient way to do so. I'm not going to delve into the whys or where fores here, suffice to say, trust me. However, there is still a place for cardio training. Why/ Because of the health benefits associated with your heart and lungs. The heart is a muscle and like all muscles, it needs to be exercised in order for it to grow and develop. Cardio training is a great way to exercise the heart.

The benefits of Boot camps are numerous, suffice to say, I'm going to attempt to cover off on them here. First and foremost, Boot camps get people off the couch, out from behind computers and out into the real world performing some type of movement activity. Whether it be doing push ups in the local park or carrying large timber poles around on the beach, the main benefit of Boot camps that I believe exist is the fact that they get people moving. There has been some criticism of late in the local media about the "cowboys" out there running these types of training camps, where the potential for injury is too great. Now that may be the case, but the fact that over 50% of the Australian population is either overweight or obese, then surely the risk of injury is far outweighed by the huge numbers of people suffering from 21st century illnesses that can be simply melted away with a little bit of movement, a change in nutritional habits and a change in attitude?
A thin pair of liner socks and one thicker pair of high quality (and quite new) socks is enough. Many people these days just opt for a single thick-ish sock. Make sure they are clean Ugg Boots Clearance!
Stomping up long walk-ins in big mountain boots can be tough on the feet. As we often have minimal snow cover in the UK (the last two years perhaps being an exception) some climbers do much of the walk in a pair of approach shoes, switching to boots when the snowline is reached. Your trainers can be stashed, ready to be picked up on the way out or carried in your bag.
If your big boots are really causing you a problem, this can be a quick-fix solution.
9. Go leashless.
All your mates are doing it. Go on. Try it...
The best thing about leasless climbing, apart from the fact that you haven't got a strap tied round your arm, causing you all sorts of trouble when you want to place gear, have a pee, scratch your head etc. is that it makes you feel like a superhero.
During Boot Camps, participants perform some form of resistance training, using predominantly what's on offer. It may be body weight squats, or body weight lunges. It may be pull ups using a local children's playground, or the good old fashion push ups on the ground. The point is one's body weight under load forces the body's systems (skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular just to name a few) to adapt to the stresses that you place upon it, thereby making those systems grow and develop. Whether you are 20 or 60 yrs old, your body will benefit from some form of resistance training. I've said in recent posts that resistance training can be compared to the secret fountain of youth and that's so true. The benefits of resistance training alone can huge, from lowering blood pressure, to reducing body fat, improving your flexibility & sports performance, the list goes on.
Over the past few years Boot Camps have been popping up all over the place and sometimes they receive some bad press. Like many things in life there are good and bad in everything, doctors, lawyers, dentists, car sales people, just to name a few. And like those occupations, Boot Camp Instructors fall into this same category, so rather than just say Boot Camps are bad for you or they are good for you, lets remove the emotion from this discussion and focus on the processes, not the people.
Training as a group can also mean it is more cost effective than working one on one with a trainer. The larger numbers mean you pay less for the trainer's expertise and time.
Boot camps are usually performed in large numbers, anywhere from 6-10 people upwards. The great thing about working as a group is that people can develop a team atmosphere and as we all know, working as part of a team can be far more enjoyable than working alone. Team members encourage and motivate each other, helping other members to achieve. The creative competition can also benefit those seeking to strive towards a goal. It pushes people often beyond what they might otherwise achieve on their own.
Coined from the US Military, Boot Camps originally defined a group of military personnel enrolled in some sort of training camp or facility. Nowadays, the term is used more in the civilian world Wholesale Ugg Boots, where groups of average everyday people enrol to participate in military style exercise programs conducted in all sorts of various locations such as local parks, beaches, wilderness, and even in local gyms. Often the instructors have some form of former military back ground, however, with the explosion in Personal Trainer styled qualifications in recent years, most boot camps these days are run by those who hold a PT type qualification.
